GUIDED SURGERY FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS

Guided surgery for dental implants represents another step toward excellence in implantology.
With the help of 3D software, treatment can be planned by combining CT scans of the patient’s mouth with the immediate-load prosthesis, and by analyzing areas where dental implants can be placed to restore the patient’s oral health. This is a 3D surgical plan for the patient’s complete rehabilitation.
The software transforms this into a three-dimensional image that allows the surgeon to simulate the surgery, taking into account not only the patient’s bone anatomy but also the future implant-supported prosthesis that will be constructed.
Once the study is complete, a surgical guide is specifically designed to transform that virtual plan into reality; the surgical guide is a template that is specially crafted three-dimensionally.
Furthermore, this simulation allows the prosthesis to be prepared prior to implant surgery, offering the patient the option of having teeth on the very day of surgery—that is, enabling immediate loading—which will result in an improved quality of life for the patient, superior aesthetics, and the ability to eat starting on the day of surgery.
At Clínica Shimon, we can simultaneously place the temporary fixed teeth for immediate loading allowing, in addition to minimally invasive surgery with almost no postoperative return, the patient immediate aesthetic, phonetic and masticatory functions of the mouth.
